Milk: Does a Body Good

For those of you that know me, you know that two of my favorite foods are cheese and french fries....preferably when they come together in perfect unison. I love dipping those french fried sticks into a hot gooey cheesy....artery-clogging, thigh-dimple inducing mess!

I have been inspired by this blog www.kimberlysnyder.net/blog/ , and even though I am quite certain I will never be as healthy as this guru, she has given me the courage to try new things.

My first excursion into the new: Vanilla Almond Milk, rich with vitamins, antioxidants, and calcium. ( I was too scared to try the non-flavored). Today I poured some in my coffee. It was sweet, a little thicker ( I'm used to skim) and surprising delicious. I am going to try it in smoothies and used in a recipe for strawberry muffins. I am also going to sneak attack my nephew with it too :-).

Toes

A weird subject for blog #1, I will admit. However, to me, getting your toes done (or a pedicure as some of the upper echelon might be more inclined to say) is one of the most wonderful, relaxing, feel-good-about-yourself things that you can do. I was feeling pretty bummed yesterday, as I often do when I overwhelm myself with thoughts of how to better myself, how to give my life meaning, how to live better, love better, etc. etc. Well, screw it all I thought, I may not have found the fountain of youth or the key to cancer on this early Monday evening, but damn it, I shall have pretty toes! (Mine were getting pretty nappy from neglect). So, I ended up trotting over to my local Paris Nails and received a wonderful pedicure from a Vietnamese lady I have known for quite some time now. I ended up choosing an eye-catching hot pink color to brighten up my summer day! Ahh, I closed my eyes as she was scraping the dead skin off my feet with a wonderful tool that resembles a cheese grater, and massaging my pressure points and cutting the cuticles, and scrubbing and polishing. Yes, toes might be a simple little nothing people don’t often think about, but they look a world of difference if you just give them a little pampering once in a while !

In other toe news:
A quote from The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All “I may not be the best athlete, I may not be the best cook, but daddy can suck a mean toe!” haha. God love ya Taylor P.
